The US Fish and Wildlife Service announced Friday it is going ahead with its plan to remove grizzly bears in Yellowstone National Park from the Endangered Species Act.
There had been talk of the plan being modified, making the process longer.
Senator Steve Daines applauded the announcement, saying he looks forward to working with both federal agencies and the state to manage the grizzly bear population.
Back in 1975, when the government put grizzly bears on the Endangered Species List, there were only 136 grizzly bears left. Today, there are 700 or more in Yellowstone.
