BUTTE – Workers who lost their lives on the job were honored today during a ceremony in Butte.

Officials from Occupational Safety and Health Administration met at Montana Tech to commemorate Workers’ Memorial Day by planting spinner flowers on the campus in honor of all men and women in Montana killed on the job.

“In Montana, you’re looking at anywhere from 12 to, some years we’ve had as high as 25, 26 fatalities in a year,” Ross Yeager of OSHA.

He added that more people are killed in construction jobs than any other.
