BOZEMAN – The 16th Annual Orchid Show and Sale wrapped up Sunday at the Gallatin Valley Mall.
The event was put on by the Sacajawea Orchid Society. Experts from the American Orchid Society gave out first, second, and third place ribbons to the best orchids in each category. National awards were also given out this weekend.
The event was open to the public and anyone was encouraged to enter their homegrown orchid into the show.
“It’s fun to see people so interested in orchids. You know they see them in the grocery stores and stuff like that but when they see all of the different varieties of orchids that we have and people grow they are amazed,” said society member Marilyn Collins.
The society says there are only two orchid shows in Montana each year, one in Bozeman and one in Helena.
