BOZEMAN – The city of Bozeman has released a map for citizens to see when their house was built.

Citizens can access the map on their website. It shows the ten historic districts and 2,300 points within the city. These points can be statues, houses, or businesses.

If you click on the points on the map, you can see when the building was built and the original records.

Historic Preservation Specialist Phil Gonzalez says this tool will update as time goes on.

"That information will remain there as those structures come and go and really creates the history of the historic building environment within the city," said Gonzalez.

Jon Gerster has owned the Lehrkind Mansion for 21 years and says it’s the history that makes this place special.

"When we crawl into the minds of the past through the structures that they lived in, then it helps ground us, it helps give us not only a sense of place but also who we are," said Gerster.
