BELGRADE -- With every odd stacked against her just more than a year ago, Belgrade's Gabby Weber overcame what seemed impossible to, not just play basketball once again, but compete at the collegiate level. On Thursday, the senior announced she intends to sign with defending NAIA national champion Montana Western.

MTN Sports confirmed the news after Weber announced her verbal commitment via Twitter on Thursday.

In January of 2019, Weber suffered a leg injury that baffled numerous doctors she visited. It ended her season and nearly ended her entire athletic career. She was diagnosed with popliteal artery entrapment, a rare vascular disease that, in simple terms, restricts blood flow to the lower leg. The disease almost caused her to lose her right foot.

Weber went through multiple surgeries and more than a year of physical therapy, finally returning to the court for the first time in February against Billings Skyview.

Weber told MTN Sports that she has not signed her national letter of intent to officially become a Bulldog yet, but she says she's 100 percent committed to Montana Western.
