BOZEMAN — HAVEN has been supporting survivors of domestic violence in Gallatin County since 1979.

The advocacy group for domestic violence survivors announced it will be holding a competition for architects interested in designing HAVEN’s new shelter.

Three architecture firms have met the required qualifications to compete.

Haven’s new facility will be able to accommodate almost four times as many survivors as the current shelter to meet current demand.

The new shelter will be located on 12 acres of vacant land just north of the Bozeman Ponds.

“One of HAVEN's big values is to really engage our community,” said Erica Aytes Coyle, Executive Director at HAVEN.

“This process, in going through this competition will provide the opportunity for our community stakeholders, and really survivors to have a voice in what this looks like.”

The architectural firm that will design HAVEN's new shelter will be selected in January 2020.
