GLENDALE, Ariz. (KNXV) — Citizens intervene as a Bakersfield father is seen punching his young teenage son during a trip to Top Golf.
Glendale police report that Sunday night they responded to Top Golf near 99th Avenue and Bethany Home Road for reported child abuse.
There they reportedly found a 13-year-old boy with a bloody nose, bruises, and scratches on his arm.
The boy allegedly told police that inside Top Golf after hitting his brother he was grabbed by the hair by his mother and smacked in the head.
They then went outside when his mother allegedly scratched his arm and hit him in the face.
Witnesses say they also saw the boy’s father Daniel Aguirre, age 36, punch the boy in the face and ribs. According to court documents, the witnesses felt this went beyond punishment and stepped in to help the boy.
Police say the parents reported to them that the boy was “out of control and cussing at them.”
Family members took the boy, as the father was arrested for child abuse. Police say charges against the mother are pending.
The family was visiting Arizona from Bakersfield, California.
