Metairie (WDSU) — One woman narrowly escaped after debris from the interstate in Metairie came crashing down due to a truck smashing into the wall.
The crash at Interstate 10 at the Bonnabel Boulevard exit happened Wednesday. Most motorists didn’t notice anything but the resulting afternoon traffic.
But security cameras from a nearby business show just how bad the crash could have been. One of the business’s clients had driven away seconds before the debris came down and a lady walking with her groceries could have also been hit.
Officials said the crash happened after a dump truck, for whatever reason, slammed into the wall of the interstate, sending debris all over the intersection and onto the service road.
