Wisconsin (WGBA) — 52 Vietnam Veterans are on their way back home to Wisconsin after spending nearly 2 weeks in Vietnam with the Old Glory Honor Flights trip.

One of the veterans, Steve Trinkner, says this has been an emotional trip, but says it’s so special for these veterans to go back to where they were stationed.

Saturday evening, at Menasha High School, the community is coming together to welcome those 52 veterans back home.

Tom Sawicki is a Vietnam vet who’s been on an Honor Flight before. He says words can’t express how incredible his welcome home was from D.C.

“It’s a big thing for us when you came back, we had nothing and now of course it’s just unbelievable. It’s just second to none,” Sawicki says.

The 484th Army Band and Menasha High School band will be performing at the welcome home ceremony.
