Kansas City (KSHB) — A Kansas City, Missouri Police Department employee is recovering at a local hospital after accidentally shooting himself Tuesday morning.
A police spokesperson said the man was handling the gun as part of normal operations around 7:30 a.m. at the department’s Crime Lab at 26th Street and Brooklyn Avenue when it discharged.
The gun was owned by the department, according to the spokesperson.
The employee is expected to recover.
