MT. MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJRT) — Halloween season is proving to be a very lucky one for lotto players and this time it’s benefiting someone in the Flint area.

A $2 million winning Mega Millions ticket was sold October 30 at the Sunoco gas station on Clio and Pierson roads. The winning numbers were 20-31-39-46-49 and the Mega Ball was 23.

The US Energy Distribution business has a Flint address but is located in Mt. Morris Township.

The winner of a $2 million prize matched the five white balls drawn, and thanks to buying the optional Megaplier, the prize was doubled.

Assistant Manager Caitlyn Stubbs was shocked about the win.

“To know that somebody at my store, which are always regulars actually, got a kickback and a good one before Christmas and you know during the hard times. This is the hardest time of the year,” Stubbs said.

There was another Mega Millions winner Tuesday night. A winning $1 million ticket sold in Mt. Clemens. After lottery fever has swept the nation with a record breaking Mega Millions jackpot earlier this month, Stubbs is happy to see some people here get a piece of the pie.

“The last time we heard somebody won in South Carolina and there’s been times that we heard Rochester Hills and every place around us, and finally for it to hit here at home is just amazing and I’m like – it makes you feel like the odds are not so bad anymore,” Stubbs said.
“It makes me emotional because I know how this community is, and I know like the Flint water has affected a lot of us.”
