DENVER (KMGH) — Local law enforcement and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration raided dozens of homes Wednesday morning around the Denver metro area as part of a massive marijuana enforcement effort.
Denver7 was on scene when agents removed marijuana plants from dozens of homes in the Tollgate neighborhood in Aurora. Lance Hernandez reported at least 1,000 plants were found in one home.
Authorities say several people have been apprehended for questioning as part of the investigation. Electrical lighting equipment were also seized.
Wednesday’s operation is part of an ongoing effort by authorities to curtail black-market marijuana operations in the state.
Nearly 100 homes and businesses were raided in the metro area during a similar operation back in August.
