INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KSHB) — According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, suicide is the 10th leading cause of death across the United States.
After battling with suicide himself, Denny Ying is hoping to raise awareness about it and depression by biking across the country.
Ying started his journey late August in San Francisco and will bike to Times Square in New York City.
He stopped in Kansas City last Saturday and plans to leave once the weather clears up:
Ying said one of his focuses on raising awareness includes advocating the importance of self-care, self-acceptance, and self-love.
