LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) — Authorities have confirmed that Caleb Acuna, a 2-year-old boy critically injured at a pumpkin patch in Lancaster County earlier this week, has died.
While he, his mother and his 5-year-old sister were jumping on a bounce pad a gust of wind took it off the ground, flying the boy around 40 yards. The family was the only ones on the pad when the accident occurred.
Currently, there are no regulations on bounce houses and bounce pads in Nebraska but the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office believes this one was properly secured.
The County Sheriff said it was an “abnormal accident.”
Acuna’s sister suffered a broken arm.
