St. Louis police search for clues after 3 homicides in 6 hours

    ST. LOUIS (KMOV) — Investigators with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department are piecing together three separate homicides that happened in a six-hour span beginning Tuesday evening.

In each of the cases, police said the victim was shot multiple times.

The first deadly shooting happened in the 1900 block of Congress in the Benton Park neighborhood. Officers said Richard MacDonald, 38, was found with multiple gunshot wounds just before 6 p.m.

A few hours later, police were called to the 3800 block of Lee in the Fairground Park neighborhood after David McLaurin, 59, was found with numerous gunshot wounds.

Then, just before midnight, investigators were called to a third homicide scene. Leroy Hunt, 62, was found dead in the 4200 block of West Cote Brilliante in The Ville neighborhood.

According to recent homicide statistics from police department, there have been 142 homicides in 2018. That is the lowest number in at least five years.
