Greenville, IL (KMOV) — A man is facing charges for allegedly stabbing three women at a home in Greenville, Illinois.
Daniel Tupou is charged with attempted first-degree murder, home invasion and aggravated battery.
Authorities said the stabbing happened at a home in the 500 block of West Harris Avenue on Monday.
He is accused of stabbing Dana Anderson, her adult daughter and stepdaughter.
Neighbor Ryan Starks said he heard screaming around 2 p.m. Monday and saw a pregnant woman grabbing her stomach outside across the street.
Starks said the woman told him a man was trying to kill her. He then said the woman ran into his home and the suspect chased after her, down the street, with a four-inch knife.
“I heard the police coming so I knew I had to keep him out of the house so I ended up grabbing his wrist and I said ‘you got to put the knife down’ and he said ‘I got to do this’,” Starks remembered.
Starks said the man eventually wiggled away and made it into Starks’ home.
Soon after, police arrived, tased the man and took him into custody.
Police said the three women who were injured are related and live at the home.
Officers added that Tupou appeared to be staying at the home and stabbed the three women when an argument broke out.
All three women were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Greenville is 51 miles northeast of St. Louis in Bond County.
