Phoenix, AZ (KPHO/KTVK) — The Mesa Police Department and the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force are asking for the public’s help to identify this suspected serial bank robber.
The “Wiggin’ Out Bandit” is thought to have robbed, or attemped to rob, nearly a dozen banks since March 27, 2018. Four of the incidents happened within the past week.
During all the robberies, no one was injured. The robber usually demands money or presents tellers with a demand note, then flees on foot. Many of the banks that were robbed were inside grocery stores.
The robber was dubbed the “Wiggin’ Out Bandit” because he wears various wigs during the bank robberies. He is described as being 5’8″ to 5’10”, around 30 to 40 years old, and weighing about 150 pounds.
Wells Fargo bank is offering a reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of this individual.
The unknown suspect is believed to be responsible for the following robberies:
March 27, 2018, at approximately 5:55 p.m., at the Chase Bank located at 1021 North Ellsworth Road in Mesa.
April 11, 2018, at approximately 4:14 p.m., at the Wells Fargo located at 1951 West Baseline Road in Mesa.
May 11, 2018, at approximately 6:53 p.m., at the MidFirst Bank located at 4750 East Chandler Boulevard in Phoenix.
June 1, 2018, at approximately 6:11 p.m., at the Wells Fargo located at 1951 West Baseline Road in Mesa.
June 25, 2018, at approximately 6:01 p.m., at the US Bank located at 3185 West Apache Trail in Apache Junction.
July 16, 2018, at approximately 5:51 p.m., at the Wells Fargo bank located at 339 East Brown Road in Mesa.
August 1, 2018 at approximately 7:02 p.m., at the Wells Fargo bank located at 4970 South Alma School Road in Chandler.
Aug. 2, 2018 at approximately 7:02 p.m., at the US Bank located at 1960 West Main Street in Mesa.
Aug. 16, 2018 at approximately 2:46 p.m., at the Wells Fargo bank located 339 East Brown Road in Mesa.
Aug. 22, 2018 at approximately 7:00 p.m., at the Wells Fargo located at 1122 N Higley Road in Mesa.
Aug. 23, 2018 at approximately 5:55 p.m., at the US Bank located at 18495 E Queen Creek Road in Queen Creek.
Aug. 23, 2018 at approximately 6:30 p.m., at the Wells Fargo bank located at 155 West Combs Road in Queen Creek.
