K9s receive protective body armor

    SEYMOUR, CT (WFSB) — Seymour Police Department’s K9s have received bullet and stab protective vests.

The vests were given to K9 Zoar and K9 Rex from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

The organization has provided over 2,900 protective vests in 50 states through private and corporate donations.

Each protective vest has a value between $1,744-$2,283 and comes with a five-year warranty.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a charity located in East Taunton, Massachusetts, which provides bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to law enforcement dogs.
