PAYSON, UTAH (KSL) — The pilot of a small plane died after the aircraft crashed into a house in Payson early Monday morning, officials confirmed.
The plane went down around 2:30 a.m. near 584 E. Canyon Road, emergency dispatchers said.
The pilot, who was the only person on board the plane, died. Their name has not yet been released. The only two people inside the house at the time of the crash escaped safely, according to Payson police.
Pictures sent to KSL show the plane in the front yard of a damaged home.
The plane and the house apparently caught fire but the flames have been extinguished.
The plane also appeared to have missed nearby power lines but clipped the corner of the garage on a house across the street from the crash.
Other details about the crash were not immediately available. Roads in the area are expected to be closed throughout the morning.
