MABLETON, GA (WGCL) — Police in Cobb County say a 12-year-old boy is in stable condition after being struck by a bullet as he stood in the kitchen of a Mableton residence.
Officers responded to a person shot call at 9:31 p.m. on Friday in the 5000 block of White Boulevard, where they found child.
Police say the child was standing in the kitchen when a bullet came from the rear of the houses and struck him in the abdomen.
He was transported to Scottish Rite Hospital in critical but stable condition.
An investigation into the shooting is on-going.
The boy’s mother, Shamena Wooten, says if the bullet’s trajectory had changed a half-inch, her son would be dead. She hopes anyone with information will come forward.
