Wintry pattern continues into Thursday

BOZEMAN – Winter-like weather continued today across most of Montana with snow and icy roads this morning and colder than temperatures this afternoon.

A broad trough is currently sitting over the Pacific NW and Norther Rockies and this will lock our weather pattern with additional scattered snow and a few more days of colder than normal temperatures.

Thursday and Friday look for scattered snow showers especially in the afternoon to early evening hours. This is the time when the atmosphere is slightly unstable which will help produce scattered areas of snow.

Greatest concerns for accumulations will be over mountain passes which will bring icy conditions overnight into Thursday morning. Most lower valleys could see an inch or two but should on the light side through Friday.

By the weekend this pattern will begin to break down and temperatures should be warming up into the 40s.
