Slick roads and heavy snow for Sunday

Sunday's Forecast:
Rain showers will transition quickly to snow as we move toward Sunday morning. A strong arctic airmass will slide across Montana and drop temperatures to the teens and 20s for your Sunday. Current model trends show 4”-8” of valley snow by Sunday afternoon with 8”-15” expected for the mountains. Wet roadways are expected to see a layer of ice beneath the snow by early Sunday. Snow showers will slowly taper as we get to the afternoon on Sunday with light flurries possible through early Monday morning.

BOZEMAN: High: 26; Low: 5. Slick roads with bands of heavy snow will be in place for southwest Montana by Sunday morning. Gusty northwest winds will keep wind chill values in the low teens through the afternoon with 4”-7” possible.

BUTTE: High: 23; Low: 2. Cold and snow will be in place by Sunday morning. Heavy snow is expected through the morning. Accumulations are expected to be between 5”-8” of snow possible by the afternoon.

DILLON: High: 25; Low: 4. Heavy snow is expected overnight into early Sunday. Gusty winds will make blowing and drifting snow a significant issue with the potential of as much as 8” of snow on the ground by noon.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: High: 27; Low: 3. Light to moderate snow is expected to bring 1”-3” of snow to the area with significant snowfall between 8”-15” in the mountains by the evening.
