BOZEMAN – Temperatures are nice and cool across SW Montana Monday afternoon. A cold front passed through the state Sunday afternoon and now a cool NW flow aloft is producing cooler than temperatures for several days.
High-pressure off the Pacific NW coast will slowly drift eastward and should keep most storms away from Montana in the short-term forecast. As the ridge gains strength surface heating will become stronger and thus temperatures should slowly rise all week.
The next weather maker is should be another Pacific cold front by the end of the week. Temperatures will climb and cool again by the weekend.
