BOZEMAN – Temperatures likely to stay slightly above normal through early next week as a zonal flow builds. A few weakening pacific storms will bring clouds and wind to the state this weekend but not much moisture. Mountains will likely see a few snow showers Friday night and again early next week.

Surface winds will continue to be the bigger issue this weekend for wind prone areas along the Rocky mountain front and Continental divide. Locally, Ennis, Norris Hill, Three Forks, Whitehall, Monida pass and Livingston will be hardest hit with gusty winds this weekend.

The National Weather Service has a HIGH WIND WARNING up for the Livingston area through 5 am Saturday. This could be extended.

This region could see peak wind gusts up to 60 mph.

A rare event is this weekend! Comet Wirtanen will make it’s closest approach to Earth. Don’t worry it’s millions of miles away but close enough that we should be able to see it without the aid of special equipment.

The big event will be Sunday. If you are able to get any great pictures of the comet please share them with us by emailing your pictures to: newstips@kbzk.com
