BOZEMAN Mont: Mild and dry weather pattern will continue into Wednesday across Montana and possibly into Thursday morning. Great news for traveling across Montana and much of the region Wednesday into Thursday.

The next weather maker will bring colder temperatures, stronger surface winds and rain changing to snow beginning Thursday evening into Friday and could linger over the state through Saturday.

This will produce wintry travel concerns Thursday night through the weekend. Watch for wet roads to become icy and with increasing surface winds there could be some blowing snow concerns.

Early snowfall forecast from the National Weather Service show a good amount of valley snow is possible Friday into Saturday with valleys possibly picking up 2″ – 6″ by the weekend. Keep in mind this will likely change as we get closer to the event but early forecast models continue to show increasing snow across western and SW Montana.

Great news for ski resorts opening up this holiday weekend as mountain ski resorts will see snow Friday through Saturday.
