Obituary: Cynthia Forbes Norwood Jensen

By: Site Administrator
Posted

Cynthia passed away with family at her side in Bozeman, Montana where she had moved in 2015 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.  She was born in Billings, Montana to Carolyn May Forbes Norwood Workman and Eldon Earl Norwood.  Cynthia graduated from West High School in 1977.  She was married to Loren Lee Jensen for 15 years.  During that time, they had Sarah and Kai whom they raised in Pocatello, Idaho.  In 1988 she earned an Associate Degree in Child Development; in 1991, earned her Paralegal Certificate; and in 2008 earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from Idaho State University.  During her career, she worked in education, childcare, law, and healthcare.  Cynthia also served her community, including terms as president of the PTA and president of her church council.

Cynthia enjoyed playing softball, playing pool, skiing and loved watching her children and grandchildren excel in academics, the arts, and sports.  She also enjoyed the outdoors, riding horseback, camping, and floating the river.  Cynthia will be remembered for her good sense of humor, infectious laugh, and fierce love for her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and canine companions.  Her kids and grandkids were her greatest passion to whom she provided unconditional love and support.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Kay Stromberg.  She is survived by her children, Sarah (Will) Tidd and Kai Jensen; grandchildren, Eleanor and Lyle Tidd; sister, Chris Norwood (Roy Koenigsberg); brothers, Craig (Del) Norwood, Charles (Susan) Norwood, and John Norwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Her life will be celebrated with friends and family on July 4 in Billings.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Joyful Heart Foundation [give.joyfulheartfoundation.org] (25 Broadway, New York, NY 10004), leading the national effort to end sexual violence.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.  www.dokkennelson.com [dokkennelson.com]
