It’s been 18 months since Dixon woman Jermain Charlo went missing and despite the lack of progress in Charlo’s case, the search continues.

She was last seen near the Orange Street Food Farm in Missoula on June 16, 2018. Search warrants and interviews have been completed, and dozens of leads investigated since Charlo's disappearance.

Over 20 people braved the cold early Sunday to conduct a ground search for the now 24-year-old Native American woman.

Family members, volunteers, and the Lifeguard Group circled up as Missoula Police Detective Guy Baker explained the procedure and prompted the group to look for any item or piece of clothing that could be linked to Charlo.

The search began at the lower end of Whispering Pines in the Evaro Hill area.

Charlo’s Aunt, Valenda Morigeau, who’s played an active role in raising awareness about Charlo’s disappearance, says she won’t stop searching until her niece is found. Her advice to others who might be in a similar situation is simple.

“Never stop looking. Never give up because wherever they are, no matter how much we want to give up, we can’t give up on them because we don’t want them to give up.”

Anyone with information on Charlo should contact the Missoula Police Detective Guy Baker at (406) 396-3217.
