Seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county since July 18, 2020, according to a press release.
The Butte-Silver Bow Health Department made the announcement Friday afternoon.
According to officials, two women in their 20s, a man in his 20s, a man in his 30s, two men in their 50s and a man in 60s all tested positive.
The women in their 20s have been identified as contacts to others who were confirmed to have the COVID-19 virus. The man in his 30s and one of the men in his 50s have also been identified as contacts to other confirmed cases.
The remaining cases remain under investigation, the health department hasn't been able to determine the causes in these cases. The department is following up with all individuals identified as close contacts.
The new cases bring a total of 37 COVID-19 cases in Butte-Silver Bow, since the first confirmed case on March 13.
Testing for COVID-19 continues in the community and symptomatic people can be tested at Southwest Montana Community Health Center at 445 Centennial Ave. If you want to request a test, you're asked to call ahead at (406) 723-4075.
Those people who have been identified by the health department as close contacts to those confirmed to have the virus may also be tested at the CHC's drive-through clinic, on the west side of the building, 11 am.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please call ahead to (406) 723-4075.
