BOZEMAN — Continued coordination - That’s how city officials in Bozeman describe the partnership between the Gallatin City-County Health Department and different organizations across the county.
“As things change and evolve, one organization is not stepping out in front of the other. We do this as a team that’s how we’re going to get through this,” said Josh Waldo, fire chief with the Bozeman Fire Department.
With the county’s first confirmed case of Coronavirus, now more than ever, coordination between the local Health department and city officials is key.
“This is just the latest example of how we work with the Health Department, but also with Belgrade, with the County, with Three Forks and everyone else to make sure people are healthy in Gallatin County,” said Mayor Chris Mehl.
“The Health Department is giving us daily updates, daily information for us to use in the field as we’re encountering folks,” said Waldo.
“Without them, we’d be operating kinda in the blind. So it’s great to have a partner that gives us this information and guidance when we need it in a time like this.”
As for coordination between public safety and emergency responders, it’s business as usual for them.
“We are open for business and we will continue to be open for business and our patrol function will also always be working and out there,” said sheriff Brian Gootkin at a press conference on Friday.
“Public safety is always number one, period.”
“That’s the main things that we we’re trying to stress to people. If you do feel the need thought to call 911 those services are still there we have precautions in place if we have to come out and provide care at your home,” said Waldo.
