There are many city laws when comes to parking on the street in Bozeman, but a few may surprise you.

In Bozeman residential areas, all vehicles including recreational vehicles are allowed but have to be moved every 72 hours.

Vehicles must park at least 20 feet away from a crosswalk, 50 feet of a railroad crossing, and 30 feet from a stop sign. Also, you have the 72-hour rule; officials will first issue a warning, but the penalty gets tougher after that.

“We’ll issue the first citation, then we’ll return 72 hours later. If at the second visit the vehicle hasn’t moved, then the vehicle will most likely be towed.” City of Bozeman Parking Manager Ed Meece explained.

Homeowners’ associations can also implement their own rules on top of city and state parking laws.
