Gallatin County is saying no to vaping inside public property.
On Thursday, the Gallatin City-County Board of Health approved a measure that would ban vaping devices and e-cigarettes inside public buildings like restaurants, hotels, and other buildings across the county.
Health Officer Matt Kelley says the new rule is important, especially for younger residents, given the potential harm vaping products can cause.
“It supports our educators who are working with our youth to make them aware that those devices are associated with higher use of conventional cigarettes and that we want to be clear that there are health impacts with those things and that it’s not harmless,” Kelley said.
