Bikers For Kids In Need got together in Great Falls on Saturday to put together 50 meals for 50 families in need.
The goal of the group: "To enrich the lives of at-risk children and families, while breaking down stereotypes, through the cooperation and generosity of the Motorcycle community."
Along with gifts that were donated by community members, the bikers put together the Christmas meals for families hand-picked by officials with Great Falls Public Schools.
The bikers also want to stop the stigma that sometimes surrounds motorcyclists. “Hollywood and some media have kind of portrayed bikers to be something they’re not; bikers are very giving people,” said Pam Howard, one of the organizers for the drive.
They give because they understand the situation that these families are in: “I grew up this way, I can remember how it felt,” said Pam.
Denis Stringer said this hit right home: “Most of us come from the exact homes that we are going to go to. Pretty much every single one of us do this so we know where they are at.”
“We care about our kids in Great Falls and we want to make a difference for those children," said Pam.
“We love to be together and so many times when we get a chance to come together, we come," said Denis.
