A man is facing charges after allegedly exposing himself, with several children present, at the East Gallatin Recreation Area in Bozeman on Monday.
Bozeman police arrested 28-year-old Evan Earl Larrabaster Tuesday on two counts of indecent exposure. Larrabaster appeared in Gallatin County Justice Court on Wednesday, where his bail was set at $25,000.
Court documents state Bozeman police officers responded to the rec area around 4:15 p.m. Monday after reports of a naked man walking around the park and masturbating in his truck.
The truck reportedly left the scene before officers arrived, but callers provided license plate information that showed Larrabaster to be the registered owner.
A Bozeman police detective continuing the investigation on Tuesday spoke to a witness, according to court documents, who said he and other witnesses could clearly see Larrabaster in the driver’s seat of his truck with the door open.
The witness said he was with two adult women and 10 children ranging in age from 1 to 12 years old. The witness also said the distance from his group to Larrabaster’s truck was three parking spaces.
The detective said in court documents that when he spoke to Larrabaster by phone on Tuesday, Larrabaster admitted he was the man in the incident, said he was aware he has a problem, and was seeking counseling.
Larrabaster reportedly has two prior convictions for indecent exposure in Bozeman Municipal Court.
Officers attempted to locate Larrabaster throughout Tuesday, eventually arresting him at his residence around 11 p.m.
If Larrabaster is able to post bond, he must not go anywhere children frequent, including the East Gallatin Recreation Area, and he is to have no contact with children under 18.
