A water main break in Downtown Bozeman shut down an intersection and temporarily shut off water to nearby buildings.
On top of that, it caused part of the road nearby to collapse.
The Bozeman Water and Sewer Operations superintendent says a hole being worked on by his crews is responsible for closing off South 3rd Ave and Babcock Street a block south of Main Street earlier Wednesday..
The main break happened around 4 am and caused this other hole to open up on the street.
As of around 5 pm, crews were able to reopen one lane of Babcock to traffic.
The water superintendent says they worked quickly to restore water service to buildings nearby and will continue to update us once the intersection is open again.
