The National Weather Service issued a FLOOD ADVISORY for the Gallatin River at Logan.

An ice jam is beginning to back water up along the Gallatin River and the river level gauge is holding near minor flood stage of 9′.

Please avoid this area and those recreating near the Missouri Headwaters State Park stay out of the river channel as this ice jam could break open and send a tremendous amount of water and debris downstream at any time.

River levels along the Clark Fork River near Deer Lodge are holding near “action stage” which is just below minor flood stage.

A possible ice jam could be the reason for the higher river levels. Please stay away from the Clark Fork River channel until further notice.
