Second round of winter weather expected late Friday

Today's Forecast:
The snow will taper as we move through the morning on your Thursday, but we still have slick roads east of the continental divide with little or no snow accumulation for Butte and the surrounding area. Highs will stay in the 20s with clearing skies and a light wind. The sun will help melt much of the snow and ice off roadways, but we will still see several areas dealing with slushy conditions. Lows tonight will fall back to the teen’s single digits.

BOZEMAN: High: 27; Low: 6. Slushy and slick roads to start with plenty of sunshine by the middle to late morning. Clearing skies will allow lows to fall back to the single digits tonight.

BUTTE: High: 29; Low: 8. Skies will begin to clear through the morning. Highs will warm back to the upper 20s this afternoon with clear skies.

DILLON: High: 29; Low: 11. Clearing but chilly for your afternoon. With clear skies we will see overnight temperatures fall to near single digits.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: High: 30; Low: 3. Slushy roads and cool for the morning with more sunshine late in the afternoon. Lows will plummet tonight to the lower single digits or near zero overnight.

OUR NEXT WINTER STORM MOVES IN FRIDAY:
Winter Storm Watches are already out for western Montana for a storm that will roll in during the day on Friday. This storm has the potential of dropping 4”-6” in valleys by early Saturday afternoon with as much as 12” of new snow in the mountains. This storm will also bring cold air which will drop highs this weekend to the teen’s with overnight lows falling below zero.
