Today’s Forecast:
A cold front will sweep through the area Friday dropping temperatures throughout the day from the 30s and 40s to the 20s during the early evening.  Look for 1”-2” of snow in the valleys by the evening and 4”-8” in the mountains.

BOZEMAN: High – 37; Low – 11. Expect a mix of rain and snow as temperatures fall through the afternoon.  Snow totals expected to be 1”-2” for most of the valleys with foothills possibly seeing as much as 4”.

BUTTE: High – 36; Low – 8. Light snow expected to pick up through the early afternoon as temperatures fall throughout the day.

DILLON: High – 41; Low – 11. Scattered snow showers with temperatures falling this afternoon and evening.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: High – 32; Low – 4. Chilly with snow showers through the afternoon and evening.  Skies are expected to clear during the overnight allowing temperatures to plummet to the single digits.

The cold front moving through Montana will bring a mix of rain and snow to parts of southwest Montana.  The latest models indicate that there may be some rain that mixes in with the snow which could drop snowfall totals.  The models are also indicating that drier may also limit snow totals.  The latest data shows that most valleys will see 1”-2” of snow with locally higher amounts up to 4” in some of the foothills.  Mountains and mountain passes could still see between 4”-8” of snow.  The afternoon and evening will pose the biggest impact for drivers as we could see ice develop on roadways as the colder air settles into the region.  You could also see slick driving conditions at pass level early Saturday morning.
