BILLINGS – A woman was taken to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after touching a live wire in Pioneer Park.
It happened around 1:15 in the northeast portion of the park, near Virginia Lane and Avenue F.
It is unclear how the wire came loose or how it got to be hanging near the trail that goes along the creek that winds through Pioneer Park.
According to Billings Fire Battalion Chief Ed Regele, the woman had grabbed the power line. A man walking in the park stopped to help get her loose from the wire and administered CPR.
Another man stopped and also helped with CPR until paramedics arrived. Regele said the woman was conscious when she left in the ambulance.
BPD and NorthWestern Energy are working together to determine what happened.
