BOZEMAN — We all know reading is part of the foundation for success - but did you know the achievement gap between kids from low-income households and those from high-income families can be eliminated by making sure kids have books in their homes?

That’s why MTN, our parent company Scripps, and Billion Auto are teaming up to get books for kids who need them.

Now more than ever, children need books in their homes.

A child who can’t read at grade level by third grade is 4 times LESS likely to graduate from high school.

If this same child lives in poverty, they're 13 times less likely to graduate.

And 61 percent of low-income families have ZERO books at home.

Thanks to generous donations from our viewers, from the staff here at KXLF and KBZK-TV and local businesses we were able to give the gift of books to classes in two local schools this week.
