GALLATIN COUNTY — Colder weather and snow in the area means drivers will need to be prepared for changing weather conditions while on the road.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind you it’s time to prepare your car for winter conditions.

That means bringing out the winter windshield wiper fluid and keeping some blankets in your car just in case.

“Make sure that your vehicle is ready. Tires, windshield, all of that. Have some cold weather gear just in case the worst case scenario,” said Sheriff Brian Gootkin.

“Most importantly, along with the speed is safe distances. Stay away from those vehicles in front of you. Make sure you have plenty of distance so if things do go bad you have time to stop and you’re not going to get into an accident.”
