City of Bozeman buildings slated for gradual reopening, phased over several weeks

BOZEMAN — The CIty of Bozeman announced Monday that beginning May 11, city buildings will be gradually reopened, following a plan that allows for phased openings over several weeks.

According to a press release, due to the gradual approach of the plan, buildings may not be open to the public immediately, and the plan specifies guidelines employees must follow when returning to work.

The press release detailed reopening plans as follows:

Alfred M. Stiff Professional Building:

The Stiff Professional building will start its phased reopening the week of May 11th. Most employees will return to work in the office gradually over the course of the week with limited hours for the public starting on May 14th from 10 AM – 2 PM. Starting the week of May 18th the building will open with full hours.

City Hall:

City Hall will start its phased reopening the week of May 18th. Most employees will return to work in the office gradually over the course of the week. Starting the week of May 25th the building will open with full hours and most departments will open to the public. However, some departments may have limited hours.

Library:

The Bozeman Public Library will start its phased reopening the week of May 18th. Staff will continue to work from home as they are able and other staff will return to work on staggered shifts.

The Library building will remain closed to the public for all of Phase 1 of the Governor’s Phased Reopening plan. At this time there is no expiration date to Phase 1 per the Governor’s directive.

Digital services will continue to be available. Beginning May 18th the Library will begin offering curbside service of delivery materials to patrons. Details for how this service will be implemented are in the final planning stage. More information will be posted to the Library’s website and social media channels as available.

Parks and Recreation:

The Parks and Recreation Department will start its phased reopening the week of May 18th. Most employees will return to work in the office. Regular field operations are ongoing and resumed in early May. Offices in Beall Center and Story Mill Community Center will open to the public with full hours however gymnasium space in Story Mill Community Center will remain closed to the public.

City park playgrounds will remain closed to the public for all of Phase 1 of the Governor’s Phased Reopening Plan.

The Bozeman Swim Center will remain closed to the public for all of Phase 1 of the Governor’s Phased Reopening Plan.

Reservations for recreation and park facilities and program registration, in compliance with the current phasing of the Governor’s Phased Reopening plan, will resume in person, online or by phone starting the week of May 18th, 2020.

City Commission Meetings/Public Meetings:

City Commission meetings will continue to be held virtually through the month of May with public comment and access information listed in agendas.

With a few exceptions the City of Bozeman’s citizen advisory boards will not convene during the month of May.
