BOZEMAN — The Bozeman School District is starting to discuss what riding the school bus will look like once students get back to school.

Administrators say they’re considering CDC guidelines that recommend allowing one student per seat when wearing a mask.

The district says they’ll need to account for the social distancing by picking up fewer riders on each route.

That could mean only students that are outside of a three-mile radius of the school can ride the bus.

“With these recommendations, you know, some of that efficiency goes out the window frankly in exchange for enhanced student safety. So we’re working hard to comply with that, we’re drawing up routes that would accomplish those goals, and hope to have that information out to parents within the next week or so,” said Mike Waterman, Director of Business Services with the Bozeman School District.

The School Board will be presented with these routes on Monday, August 10th when a final decision will be made.
