FOUR CORNERS, Mont. – Four Corners Thrift Store has opened the doors at its new location after a long road to stay open.
After a series of unfortunate events, the store was expected to close down after being told to vacate the premises.
Owner Linda Thompson was able to find a new location just down the road at 8256 Huffine Lane, next to where Big Boys Rentals used to be. Thanks to volunteer help, the store was able to move into the new spot within a week.
“It is amazing,” said partner Carolyn Bechard. “We never thought it would happen. We believed we had a couple of months to remove items out of the old store. We might have to store them for a while. Linda didn’t have any other place to go at that time. Money was very short, we were requesting donations and what not. The community was an incredible support. ”
Five men helped move the store with their trailers and vehicles to transport the items down the road, which the thrift store is leasing through Kay and Keith Bright.
“You know, we are creatures of habit,” said Bechard. “So if you are used throwing something in your car to drop off donations and you are heading that way, it is already in the back of your mind where the area is where you are going. Where you are used to doing it, so yes, it was definitely something we wanted to have happen.”
The store will be open Monday-Friday and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
