BOZEMAN, Mont. – The City of Bozeman is continuing to search for a person to take over the affordable housing manager position that became available in September.

The search started around the second week of September when former housing manager Matthew Madsen left the position to pursue other career options.

Director of Community Development Marty Matsen said the application will be open until around the holiday season. Matsen said he wishes the search had been closed by now but filling this type of position takes time.

“We have had some good applicants. We are really trying to generate as much interest as we can. We are looking for some really specialized skill sets, and competing with every other community in the country that is dealing with affordable housing is, you know, is in our same situation,” Matsen said.

The city hopes to fill the position by February.
