The boy was traveling northbound on a 2011 Yamaha 450 and rolled it when making a left-hand turn. MHP confirmed that the boy was wearing a helmet.

The boy became pinned under the ATV and was trapped for two hours before being found. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Drugs, alcohol, and speed are not suspected in the crash. According to MHP, road conditions were bare and dry, though deep ruts in the road are suspected as a contributing factor.
