BOZEMAN — One of Gallatin County’s most popular traffic routes for the summer still sees a fair amount of traffic throughout the winter.

And on Monday morning, county crews made sure it was plowed for them.

The Gallatin County Road and Bridge Department plowed Hyalite Canyon Road from 4 am until about 11 am, spending seven hours to make it safe to drive.

Crews say winter traffic doesn’t slow much; the road up to Hyalite Reservoir still sees about 20,000 drivers per month, compared to the summer’s 40,000.
