BILLINGS - A man described as a "person of interest" in a Billings homicide who is also wanted on felony charges has been captured.

The U.S. Marshals Service said in a press release issued Friday that Lorenzo James Harris was captured Thursday in Chicago by a fugitive task force. He is pending extradition from Illinios to Montana.

Harris, 28, has been described as a "person of interest" in a Billings homicide, according to authorities. He is also wanted on two felony warrants out of Yellowstone County District Court for violations of conditional release on original convictions for assault with a weapon and strangulation of a partner or family member, the press release states.

Harris was arrested in Chicago by the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force after they received information from Montana law enforcement agencies which had developed leads that Harris was in the Chicago area.

“This case was a great example of how the MVOTF and all it partners, locally and nationally, can work together to bring violent offenders to justice and hold them accountable,” said Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Timothy Hornung for the District of Montana.
