Darryl Duane Omsberg is facing his fifth charge of driving under the influence.

An MHP Trooper Central Avenue near 14th Street saw a westbound vehicle in an area where Central West has two lanes for east and westbound traffic and a continuous left turn lane only lane in between the other four lanes.

According to court documents, Omsberg was in the left lane, closest to the center turn lane. As Omsberg drove, the Trooper noticed he was weaving nearly continuously and frequently crossed the dotted/white centerline with his passenger side tires. On a couple of occasions, he went far enough that the Trooper believed he was changing lanes, but then he would swerve back into the left lane again. Based on this, the Trooper initiated a traffic stop.

The driver was identified as Darryl Omsberg; he appeared dazed and had a fresh bleeding cut on his forehead, according to the court documents. The cut appeared superficial. Omsberg's eyes were bloodshot, watery and glassy in appearance. Omsberg's clothing was disheveled and his sweatpants were visibly wet in the area of his knees/hips, and his waistband was very low on his hips. There was an odor of alcohol coming from the interior of the vehicle. Omsberg was delayed in his responses to questions. He admitted drinking vodka earlier in the evening. He said he had fallen when getting into his vehicle when he was leaving a bar.

When he stepped out of the car to perform maneuvers, he did not adjust the waistband of his sweatpants and his genitals were exposed. The Trooper asked him to correct the issue, and he only pulled up the back of his pants, leaving his genitals exposed until the Trooper asked him to cover himself.

During a field sobriety test, he showed signs of impairment. A breathalyzer test indicated a blood-alcohol content of .122, which is above the legal limit of .08 to drive, according to the charging documents.

Omsberg consented to a blood draw, the results of which are still pending.

A driver's history check revealed Omsberg has four DUI convictions, from 2002, 2006, 2009, and 2012.
