GALLATIN COUNTY — As of Monday, Governor Bullock announced the only official number of recovered cases in the state of Montana.
That number was 32 at that time.
Health department officials say there could be more but that number’s a tough one to tell.
Health officials with the Gallatin City-County Health Department say they’ve been watching projected numbers from other nearby states, like Washington.
They say the recovery numbers help lift optimism but also some health concerns.
Other states' health departments report some people choosing to not follow social distancing guidelines after hearing about recoveries.
The GCCHD stresses, while recoveries are happening, the virus is still dangerous.
“It is good that people are recovering but I think it is really important that people understand we still have a long road ahead of us and it's really — it's just critically important that people stay home and keep that social distance,” says Matt Kelley, GCCHD health officer.
They add that the recovery numbers should be updated again by the Governor’s Office soon.
