LIVINGSTON — The Park City-County Health Department is saddened to announce two COVID-19 related deaths at Livingston HealthCare in recent days.

On Sunday, November 15, a man in his 70s passed away at Livingston HealthCare. The man was a Park County resident, the first to pass away from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.

On Friday, November 13, a man also in his 70s passed away at Livingston HealthCare. The man was a North Dakota resident who was being cared for at Livingston HealthCare because of hospital shortages in the region.

To protect the privacy of the deceased and their families, the Park City-County Health Department will not release further information.

“I would like to express my condolences to the families,” said Dr. Laurel Desnick, Park City-County Health Officer. “We all share in your sadness. It is never easy to lose a loved one, especially far from home.”

On Saturday, November 14, Park County had 52 new cases of COVID-19, by far the most recorded in a single day.

So far, more than 450 people have had COVID-19 in Park County. Of those, nearly 200 are cases currently active.

These cases are spreading in a variety of ways. The best way to prevent the spread of the virus is to stay at home whenever possible, wear masks when in public and not have social gatherings.

“This is a somber reminder to the rest of the community. In all likelihood, these will not be our only deaths from the virus.” Desnick said. “We know how to stop the spread of this virus. Now is the time for each of us to do everything we can to help.”
